About fanlistings

A fanlisting is, quite simply, an online list of fans for a given subject. It's easy to join; all you need is a name, e-mail address, and country. Your e-mail is used only for database purposes and so that the fanlisting owner can contact you, for example if the listing moves or is closed. Also, if you choose to list your e-mail address on the list, other members will be able to contact you, and if you so wish, you'll be able to contact them too. It's a great way to get in contact with other fans!

About Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle

Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle (also known as Maniac Mansion 2 or Day of the Tentacle) is the sequel to the 1987 game Maniac Mansion. Released in 1993 by LucasArts, DOTT focuses on Bernard Bernoulli, one of the seven playable characters from the first game in the series, and his friends Laverne and Hoagie. Considered to be one of the best games in the adventure genre, Maniac Mansion: Day of the Tentacle is focused around time travel, and the effects on the future of changing something in the past (ie. leaving a bottle of wine lying hidden will allow someone else 100 years later to find a bottle of vinegar in the same place).

Originally, DOTT was planned to be more like its predecessor, with six playable characters to choose from (including a poet named Chester, a hippie named Moonglow, and Razor from the first game). However, to simplify the project, the idea was dropped, which also makes the game stronger story-wise (although, as a fan of Razor, I have to admit I miss her presence in the game). Overall, the game is an interesting play, for fans of the original and new fans alike - I personally played this one first! I'd recommend it to anyone.
